2023 proved to be another incredible year for the Share the Experience Employee Photo Contest. The quality of the photos was superb making it ever more difficult for our judges to pick a winner.

The winning photos were selected based on their exemplary photographic qualities and their amazing representations of the spectacular recreational opportunities offered through our federal lands and waters. We are proud to present the 2023 winners.

Grand Prize

The Grand Prize photo was taken by Sophie Ulik, National Park Service, while at Sequoia National Park. Here is what she had to say about the photo:

"When this photo was taken, I was doing a two-night backpacking trip over the weekend at Hamilton Lake in Sequoia NP. We hiked in from Crescent Meadow and spent both nights at that campsite because it was so beautiful. This photo was my attempt to capture how magical it was to camp there and spend all evening staring out at the lake, waterfalls, and mountains above. The full moon was just rising up above the mountains, and it allowed for us to see very well in the night. I returned there several times because I truly couldn't get enough of it!"
